Emilie really likes to have a small backpack at camp to carry stuff around in. She wore the last one out. I love the striped fabric that she wanted and I never get tired of stitching feathers.
Bits & Pieces
Vacation
My family was down this past week. It is the first time that they have all been down in Florida all together (15 of us). We had such a wonderful time. The guys got to go fishing. We swam, ate and got some sun. What a great memory for all of us!
The Wedding Quilt
I asked Emilie to help me get some quilt pictures. One of the quilts was the wedding quilt that my Grandmother made for me when Mark and I got married. She was from Oshkosh, Wisconsin – so she made it warm (2 inch wool batting). I have always loved this quilt, but it was too hot and heavy for us to use in Florida. Since she had tied it, I decided to un-tie it and put a new batting in it. I quilted it on the long-arm and LOVE how it turned out. I put a muslin on the back – and I can not believe how soft it is. This quilt is going to get many years of use.
Binding Class – 3 hours
I will be teaching a binding class @ Derrell’s in Pensacola on Friday, June 14th. Call 438-5444 to register.
Learn how to make and apply a binding to your quilt top. The class participants will learn to make 2 different types of bindings: the traditional hand-stitched on one side and a faux piping that is stitched all by machine.

Guild Project
This bright child’s size quilt was given to me to quilt this past month. It has a polyester batting and I used a cotton thread. The quilting took a little over an hour to do. Quick and cute!
