Learn how to make and apply a binding to your quilt top. The class participants will learn to make 2 different types of bindings: the traditional hand-stitched on one side and a faux piping that is stitched all by machine.

  • Sewing Machine
  • 1/4 inch foot (preferred one with the guide)
  • Cotton thread
  • 14 / 90 needles
  • 2 12 inch pre-quilted squares (it can be any size but one edge needs to be at least 12 inches)
  • Binding fabric: - about 6 inches Selvage to Selvage (STS) - about 4 inches (STS) with a coordinate fabric also about 4 inches
  • Ruler(s)
  • Marking pen/white pencil for marking your top

NOTE: If you bring larger than a 12 inch square you will need to measure around the quilt and figure 2 1/2 in strip lengths x the measurement around the quilt plus a little extra for joining the strips.

Email me at if you have any questions about the supply list.
