I will be teaching a binding class @ Derrell’s in Pensacola on Friday, June 14th. Call 438-5444 to register.
Learn how to make and apply a binding to your quilt top. The class participants will learn to make 2 different types of bindings: the traditional hand-stitched on one side and a faux piping that is stitched all by machine.
- Sewing Machine
- 1/4 inch foot (preferred one with the guide)
- Cotton thread
- 14 / 90 needles
- 2 12 inch pre-quilted squares (it can be any size but one edge needs to be at least 12 inches)
- Binding fabric: - about 6 inches Selvage to Selvage (STS) - about 4 inches (STS) with a coordinate fabric also about 4 inches
- Marking pen/white pencil for marking your top
NOTE: If you bring larger than a 12 inch square you will need to measure around the quilt and figure 2 1/2 in strip lengths x the measurement around the quilt plus a little extra for joining the strips.
