Emilie has been waiting at least year for me to recover he chair – it may be closer to 2 years. With my work schedule, I did not want to tackle a project and then not get it done before my next shift. I had no idea that it would get done so quickly.
I looked at a lot of tutorials on-line and felt like I could tackle a slip cover style. It only took me about 5 hours – with Garrett helping me staple around the bottom edge. So much for my excuses.
I decided to not remove the old upholstery as it was still in good shape and not smelly. This cut down on the time factor a ton.
Anyway, I really like the finished product…...the only bad thing is that Garrett now wants me to find him a chair to recover.

My favorite is the doll with the glasses, coat and dress – the coat and dress can come off.
Each of the girls got 2 dolls. The skirt on the green dolls comes off.
It was so much fun to get my special fabrics off the top shelf and use them.
I wanted some cool art for in the vanity room. I was thinking about doing some vintage botanical prints but I could not find any that I liked. I was at the bookstore looking and found a beautiful “Alice and Wonderland” book for $5 on sale. It was perfect! I also hit a sale on the frames that I painted cream. The artwork ended up costing about $30 total for 5 amazing “prints”.
Mark stained and put about 6 heavy coats of polyurethane on the new countertop. I ordered the vessel sink on-line. I love the clean look of the now cream cabinet and teal walls. For storage I found 2 wall cubbies for the kids to put all of their bathroom stuff – so everything has it’s place. We left them on the counter behind the sink instead of putting them up on the wall.
And to think the whole idea was based on one piece of fabric – this time the shower curtain. I have no idea how many stores I took this piece of fabric into.
