Bits & Pieces

New Nursery banner

Our church has recently just exploded with babies. We have so many little ones now and a rather small nursery. These Mama’s have decided to nurse their babies – so we have a very crowded nursery! I had wanted to make a separate nursing room for the Mom’s but just could not find a spot for it. This past Sunday, our Pastor came up with a wonderful spot and the wheels were set in motion.

On the Long-arm

I am trying to have a project on the long-arm each week. The latest project is quilting the layers for a diaper bag.

I love the silver thread on the black fabric. I am working on dexterity and smoothness. Most of the time I am doing well – but then I wobble. I am also learning how to use the ruler for straight edges.

Finished – class project

Published on 04/07/13

I finished stitching out my class project (Cindy Needham). I still need to put the binding on. I am really happy that I finished it. After getting home, I realized that I had left the feed dogs engaged during class. That explains some of my fatigue. I also had forgotten how nerve racking taking a class is. I always get nervous as the teacher – but I had forgotten how nervous I also get as the student. It was a good reminder for me.

A Day Away

Published on 04/03/13

This is one of my most favorite places!

Our family took a day away from the house the day before Easter. It just seams like our schedule fills up so fast, and before we know it every weekend is full for 2 months out. We had to miss some activities – but the day was wonderful. It was sunny, but cool in the shade. The boys went swimming in the lake, we took a 2 1/2 mile hike and sat looking at the water. We were all tired when we got home – but it was a physical tiredness – not a mental tiredness. LOVELY!

Life in Florida

Mark and I went down to an area park that is right by the water. Some of my favorite animals are shore birds – especially blue herons. There are several birds that hang out here due to people fishing. I am really wanting to make a quilt with a blue heron – but for now enjoyed getting some pictures.
