I love the effect that sunshine has on quilting. This is another view of Bernice’s quilt. I love the way the quilting looks in this light.

Awhile ago I shared this photo about a secret project that I was part of…..
Well, I can finally share the final result. The slice quilts – 2 of them – turned out so cool. It was amazing to see them hanging. We premiered them at an Art exhibit the beginning of March and then rehung them at our Quilt Show. One of the pieces was purchased by the library and is going to be a permanent display in the new downtown library building. The artist that allowed us to use his piece, came to the Quilt show and got to see the exhibit.
The slice with the building was my piece.
This is the 1st slice quilt – the one with my slice in it.
This is the other slice quilt.
What a fun project to be part of!
For those of you who know my daughter, Emilie, you know that she loves taking photographs. She has upgraded to a Cannon T3i and is taking some awesome photos. She ranges from nature to portrait photographs. She even has started doing senior pictures.
This past week, she decided to put some of her photos up on Society 6.
To see more of her work, you can visit her website where she posts her photos as well as gives tutorials on taking photographs and edits.
This quilt and blankets were made for a special baby. I work with her Momma. This baby was born at 26 weeks and spent several months in the NICU. I wonted something special for her and this 1st time Momma.
I made a quilt, 2 large receiving blankets and a little zippered bag.
I was pleasantly surprised when she said that that the nursery colors were grey and green. PERFECT!
After 3 months of constant work and quilting, I am getting a chance to blog. The quilt show was last week, so now I can share all the great projects I got to work on.
This a a hutch I found recently on one of Mark’s and my day’s out. We love going to estate sales, thrift stores and antique stores. He has a passion for vintage fountain pens and has started restoring and selling them. To see some of his stuff, you can visit his new website. I look for vintage line and quilts. I wanted something to store my linens and some quilts in. This hutch was the perfect size and the inside color was painted the same color as the walls in my dining room. I guess it was meant to be.
