I have some sweet and encouraging quilters in my quilting guild. “L”, as she would like to be called, contacted me after seeing my quilting at the last quilt show and asked it I could quilt something for her. She was very patient as quilts always take longer that I image since I work full time as well.

She brought me a traditional quilt with lots of white space and the request for lots of feathers. This actually was a stretch for me as I have been doing a more modern style quilting lately. She was so happy with the results. As always, I am in love with the backing. When “L” saw the back she said, “I may never turn it over.” =)

Bernice entrusted me with her first appliqué quilt that she made 20+ years ago. She had the top put together and stored in a drawer – she even had a backing and left over fabric for the binding. She originally was going to hand quilt a half inch grid behind the appliqué and had started marking the grid lines. I love quilting for Bernice because she gives me some ideas and then lets me run from there. I kept her idea of grids and then added to it.

I always enjoy working on a quilt for Bernice. This was a special project for Bernice – she pieced this quilt for her 96 year old friend to give to one of her grandchildren.

I really enjoyed working on this quilt for the Mobile Quilter’s Guild. They put together a very traditional quilt and wanted traditional quilting with a “touch” of modern. I really liked the challenge of this quilt.

I added several items to my Etsy shop this past week. Some of them are newly finished projects and some of them are from my “collection” that now are ready to find a new home.
