Bits & Pieces

On the long-arm

Published on 07/29/13

Another one of Cena’s quilts was on the long-arm. The fabric was so busy – I really just wanted to create some texture.

Panel stitch sampler

Published on 07/27/13

New attached image I have had this piece of fabric in my “stash” for quite some time and decided to use it to try out some new thread and designs. New attached image It was fun to quilt some geometric shapes and use some different fills. I think it turned out pretty cool. New attached image I did not really like the tread but enjoyed the process. New attached image I am going to make this available in the store. New attached image New attached image

Baby Turtle finished

New attached image The turtle quilt is done and it is by far one of my favorites. I love quilts that use a lot of white with bright prints. They are so cheerful.

This is going to be a post full of pictures. =)

Baby Turtle update – on the long arm

Published on 07/22/13

Having so much fun!

New attached image

The quilting on this quilt is going so well. I am using a new bobbin thread that I bought from Threadart.com and I am loving it. No thread breaks or tension problems.

I decided to leave the pinwheel colored squares and flying geese un-quilted, so they will poof up a bit. I used a polyester batting.

Baby Turtle update

The top is done! I love how cheerful it is. I messed up the math- so I had to improvise on the piecing. I think it will actually make the quilting more interesting. The turtle is machine appliquéd with a satin stitch, but the circle are hand appliquéd.

Sorry the picture is so lopsided. =)
