I feel in love with this turtle image when I worked on a baby quilt a few years ago. I had planned to use it again right away – but time got away from me.
I love the appliqué with the churn dash blocks. I will be fun to figure out quilting for this small quilt.
I had the opportunity to hang a quilt exhibit at our church the beginning of March for a special ladies event. We hung the quilts in every available space – ended up being 76!
A large portion of the quilts were mine but we had some quilts that had been made from loved one’s clothes that had passed away as well as some that were over 80 years old. I loved hearing the stories of these quilts. I am also so touched by the stories and how a simple quilt can evoke such emotion, passion and memories. I love the new quilt and going to quilt shows but it is the quilts made out of love for others that touch me.
I have not worked on a linen in quite some time. This runner called for some detailed quilting.
