The Pensacola Quilter’s Guild show this year was wonderful. I was able to get some time off that allowed me to help with set up which is my favorite part. My 3 kids came to help one of the days as well. During the show, I spent several hours each day demonstrating the Juki long arm for Derrell’s (a sewing shop in Pensacola). I was able to quilt 4 Community quilts and talked to a ton of people.
My two quilts did well in the show. My new curved piecing design got a first and a second. The judge’s comments were valuable and gave me some specific goals.
The deer quilt was a last minute decision to put in the show. I loved working on this linen quilt and love the handwork. This quilt got a second place.
Another amazing thing happened during the show, my Mom and sister surprised me and flew down for the show. I was working in the booth talking about the long arm and I look up and see my sister. It took a minute for my brain to register who she was. So much fun. I am not a huge fan of surprises – but this one worked.
