I am really enjoying the weather lately. We had a couple of rainy days but for the most part it has been beautiful. I love being able to go to the beach in the evenings. The water is still really cold- under 60 – but the kids seem immune to the cold. There is nothing more soothing then the wind and the sound of the waves crashing. It relaxes me and then my mind starts “creating”.
This is the start of my Challenge quilt for the Pensacola Quilter’s Guild. The challenge is that the quilt must be a circle (12-40 inches in diameter) and it must contain at least 3 things that were in a grab bag. The items in the grab bag ranges from fabric, netting, organza, sequins, beads , etc.
The technique for this quilt was presented at one of the guild meetings last year. All of the accent fabrics have bugs in them. This quilt was made entirely from fabrics in my stash – all I had to buy was the batting. It was fun to use all of the bug fabrics.
